The Dark side

“Come over to the dark side” he said
His dark eyes flashed directly into mine
I feigned disinterest in him
Even though I was drawn to him
Like a moth to a flame
To him, this was just a game
“Just take a ride with me” he said

He flashed a wicked grin
I knew it was made out of sin
He climbed onto his motorbike
Leaving skidmarks all over the street
And all over my heart
I noticed people stopped to stare
But he didn’t give a care

His scar under his eye gleamed in the sun
Making him look more dangerous
His dark hair was slicked back
Shone in the sun
He towered over me
like a shadow hanging over me
I couldn’t think of anything to say
Except come what may
I swallowed thickly
Hoping he didn’t notice me looking sickly
I’m losing my grip
Just hanging on by the fingertips
What did I know about this stranger?
His motorbike spelled out danger
But his eyes spelled out excitement
He came closer to me
But I backed away slowly
Common sense prevailed
Over just a brief fling
With an exciting person who acted like a king
But who could break my heart someday
Knowing that I can’t make the same mistake again

While he rode off towards the sunset
His musky smell lingered in the air
A smell of passion and regret
His presence tainted the sky
My heart started to cry
I stared at the sun
With his absence it faded away
I wondered whether it would be the last time I saw him again
And hoped that it would not be

Let's act like teenagers in love
Let's steal a kiss under the rain
Let’s surprise each other constantly
Let's ride our bikes on the street
Let’s lose each other then find each other again
Let’s not pretend we are somebody we are not
Let's giggle at the silly things we say

Let's wake each other up every morning
Let's do crazy things together

Let’s break up just to make up
Let's jump on the beds like we did when we were young
Let’s act like children
Let’s get lost in a crowd
Let's finish each others sentences
Let’s not hang up the phone
Let’s not wait till the last minute
Let's guess each others secrets
Let's test each others limits
Let’s close the door behind us
Let's laugh without a reason
Let’s avoid all the clichés
Let's not look back in anger

Let's not make promises we know we can’t keep
Let's explore each others minds
Let’s laugh at each other jokes even if they're not funny
Let's create a secret language just for us
Let's fall asleep in each others arms
Let's be friends first and lovers second
Let's run barefoot on the grass
Let’s have funny nicknames for each other
Let's read each others minds
Let’s go dancing under the rain
Let’s read each other bedtime stories
Let’s swing on the swings for hours
Let’s get on a merry-go-round for days
Let’s do all the above and more
Let’s try all these possibilities
The possibilities are endless with us

We could go on for days without saying a word
because it's the silence that we feel most comfortable in
We could go on for days without any food
because we are too consumed with our desires
Just knowing you are within close distance
makes my heart melt like warm butter on toast
but most importantly
Let’s love each other till eternity.
